200 first French verbs
List of your 200 first French verbs. AUDIO by Anne, with a French accent.
I’m not sure exactly how many French verbs there are in French. I’d say there are thousands of them. In any case, there are about 500 irregular verbs. However, some of these verbs are repeats (for instance, verbs in SE, verbs in RE-, etc.), which are conjugated the same way as the root verb. So it’s not like you have a memorize thousands of different conjugations. I believe that if you know between 200 of them, you’ll be all set to have a very fluent French conversation.
Je ne sais pas exactement combien il y a de verbes en français. Certainement des milliers. En tous cas, il y a environ 500 verbes irréguliers. Cependant, certains de ces verbes sont des répétitions (par exemple, les verbes en SE, les verbes en RE-, etc.), qui sont conjugués de la même façon que le verbe-racine. Donc vous n’êtes pas obligé d’apprendre des milliers de conjugaisons. Je pense que si vous en savez 200, cela est largement suffisant pour parler français très couramment.
