lequel, laquelle, lesquels, lesquelles - French relative pronouns
AUDIO below, with Anne's French accent
LEQUEL, LAQUELLE, LESQUELS and LESQUELLES are relative pronouns. Because they are ‘relative’, relative pronouns are here to “relate, put in relation” two sentences that would otherwise be separate. Because they are pronouns, they replace a noun.
LEQUEL | replaces a masculine-singular noun |
LAQUELLE | replaces a feminine-singular noun |
LESQUELS | replaces a masculine-plural noun |
LESQUELLES | replaces a feminine-plural noun |
Examples
