    Salut Anne,

I just had a quick question – in the word “le jour de la Saint-Patrick”, why is Saint-Patrick preceded by la when St. Patrick is a male saint?

    Merci d’avance,

    Patricia

    • Ououou… J’adore cette question. En effet, ça n’a pas de sens, vu comme cela. I believe all Saint’s Days are feminine because what we’re really saying is ‘c’est LA journée de Patrick’.
J’espère avoir répondu à votre question, Patricia.
