avoir son zéro six, to be buddies with

j'ai son zéro six

zéro and six are the two first digits of any cell phone number in France. Avoir un zéro six means two things: either simply have someone's cell phone number, or metaphorically, to be really close to the person, to be in their circle of friends, to be buddies with. Obviously, you can't have someone's cell phone number if they didn't give it to you personally.

  • « Si tu veux, je peux la contacter pour toi. Tu sais, j'ai son zéro six. »
"If you want, I can contact her for you. You know, she's a personal friend."

That was Anne's native take on a French expression. Bonne journée française.
